ZARGES Announces IGBC Grizzly Bear-Resistant Certification

Several models of ZARGES K470 case survive real-world testing

July 30, 2015, Charlotte, NC – Today, ZARGES Cases USA announced that several of their legendary K470 Aluminum shipping and storage cases have been certified as Grizzly Bear-Resistant by the Interagency Grizzly Bear Committee (IGBC). This certification means that certain national parks, including Yellowstone National Park, will allow campers to bring their food supplies into the park when stored in approved K470 cases.

National Marketing Manager Tracy Johnson asserted, “Campers, adventurers, and expeditioners have been choosing ZARGES’ K470 cases with confidence for over half a century, knowing they will protect valuable equipment and perishable supplies in a variety of hostile conditions. We are proud that our cases have met the stringent regulations put forth by the IGBC and have been officially certified as Grizzly Bear-Resistant.”

The Interagency Grizzly Bear Committee (IGBC) was formed in 1983 to help ensure recovery of viable grizzly bear populations and their habitat in the lower 48 states through interagency coordination of policy, planning, management, and research. The IGBC consists of representatives from the U.S. Forest Service, the National Park Service, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the Bureau of Land Management, the U.S. Geological Survey and representatives of the state wildlife agencies of Idaho, Montana, Washington and Wyoming. In the interest of international coordination and cooperation, the Canadian Wildlife Service is also represented. At the ecosystem level Native American tribes possessing grizzly habitat within the recovery areas have also been involved.
