Long-Term Storage

WEATHER-RESISTANT
STORAGE CASES.

ZARGES cases are rated for long-term outdoor and uncontrolled-environment storage — IP54 sealing as standard, protected against dust and splashing water. The aluminum body doesn't warp, crack, or lose its seal from −65°F to +176°F (the tested range), and won't rust or become UV-brittle the way coated steel and plastic enclosures can over years of outdoor exposure.

Storage Durability

BUILT FOR LONG-TERM OUTDOOR STORAGE

Depot yards, rooftop equipment shelters, boat decks, and job sites all expose stored gear to the same slow damage: repeated wet/dry cycles, UV exposure, and temperature swings that most enclosures aren't built to survive for years at a time. A ZARGES case holds its seal, its shape, and its structure through that exposure — the welded aluminum body doesn't rely on a gasket alone, and the material itself doesn't age the way plastic or coated steel does.

Sealing Standards

SEALING & INGRESS PROTECTION EXPLAINED

IP ratings describe two things: the first digit is protection against solid particles (dust), and the second is protection against liquid ingress. "Dust-tight" means no dust enters the case at all, under any exposure duration. "Jetting water" means the case is tested against a direct, high-pressure jet of water from any angle — not just rain or splashing.

IP54

Dust protected and splash protected — standard on most ZARGES cases.

IP65

Dust-tight and protected from jetting water — no dust ingress at all, and a direct jet of water from any direction won't get in.

IP67

Dust-tight and submersible to 1m for 30 minutes — the case can be fully underwater for half an hour without water reaching the contents.

Environmental Stability

TEMPERATURE & UV STABILITY

ZARGES cases are tested from −65°F to +176°F, so a case left on a rooftop in July or a depot yard in January holds its seal and structure without warping or cracking. Aluminum also carries no UV sensitivity — long-term sun exposure that turns plastic brittle and coated steel's finish chalky has no equivalent effect on a ZARGES case body.
