ZARGES aluminum cases carry oceanographic instruments, laboratory equipment, sensors, samples and artwork for universities, research institutes and expedition teams. They are sealed against dust and water (IP54 as standard, IP67 on the K475), tested from −65°F to +176°F, stack under more than 2,000 lb, and take custom-cut foam that holds each instrument in place.
The same cases go from the lab bench to a research vessel, a polar station or a remote field camp, and back again season after season. Made in Germany since 1933, with a 10-year warranty.

Sealed Against Salt Spray & Water
Every K470 is IP54 sealed against dust and splashing water. The seal-welded K475 is rated IP67, dust-tight and protected against temporary immersion, for instruments that ride on deck or in open boats.
Humidity & Pressure Control
The K475 carries a pressure relief valve with a humidity indicator, so a case flown to a station or shipped through a cargo hold opens without a vacuum and shows whether moisture got in. A desiccant compartment and an inert-gas fill coupling are available on order.
Cold, Heat & Corrosion
Tested from −65°F to +176°F. The 5005 aluminum forms its own oxide layer and does not rust, so a case that spends a season at sea or on the ice comes home in working order.
Foam Cut to the Instrument
Foam liners, foam fill and fully custom-cut inserts hold sensors, optics and samplers apart and still. Interiors are designed with you and cut before the case ships.
Stacks in a Hold or a Container
Cast stacking corners and a fully welded frame take more than 2,000 lb of stacked weight. K470 cases that share a footprint stack securely together, which keeps a mixed shipment tidy.
Approved for Regulated Cargo
The K470 is UN Packing Group I approved, and the K475 can be UN certified, for hazardous goods such as lithium batteries, chemicals and preserved samples (the UN label is ordered separately). EMI shielding is available on the K475.
